NDIS Providers and Participants

Connect and Grow Magazine - Edition 4 December 2023

We are excited to share that we also have a feature article in this section.

Working together and supporting each other!

I had the privilege to spend some time with Ebony Swan from First Step Solutions, and we discussed the work that she and Cheryl are doing to help people who live with a disability learn about relationships, safe dating, and building capacity in their life, to be as independent as possible.

Many changes have been happening within the NDIS sector with the handing down of the NDIS review final report. This report has over 26 recommendations, and a task force has already been formed to examine one of the recommendations: NDIS provider registration.

We have an article online for those who would like to read an overview of the NDIS recommendations: NDIS recommendations and moving forward

Both participants – people who have a NDIS plan and providers have all questions and concerns about the recommendations, while there are some people who see it as an exciting time.

The national cabinet has agreed to share the funding of NDIS and other services for those who have a disability. However, they are not on NDIS, which is a foundational service.

The key thing to remember is that we have to take it one step at a time and that there will continue to be working parties on the different aspects of the recommendations and implementation of any changes they choose to implement: more on this after our feature article.

Whether you are a participant or a provider with all the recommendations being considered by the government and NDIS, it may feel like a time of uncertainty, and it is essential to remember that.

We have a few resources for providers that are ready to set their business up properly and to have all documents, policies and procedures in place.

Documents, Policies and Procedure are all in our Disability Sector store on our website
