Connect and Grow Magazine - Edition 2 October 2023

Spring Gardening it is so much more than weeding and planting, it is building a community!
When it comes to building and being part of the community, gardening can be a great way to connect. Many community gardens look for volunteers to help with them, from being hands-on with weeding and planting the plants to showing people around the gardens. it can be also a great way to meet new people.
You can also create a neighbourhood connection when you grow your foods and share them with your neighbours.
Having a support community helps everyone. It is a way of connecting; it is amazing how having a cup of tea or coffee with someone who rarely gets visitors can make it.
Gardening is also grounding, and it helps you to connect with nature.
There are also many places that have community walking groups, which can be a way to connect with others.
Whether you enjoy gardening or not, there is always something for everyone in nature. Maybe your connection to gardening is going for a walk in the bush, stopping and listening to the birds flying around, to see what can occur when nature does it's thing.
